The Love Your Natural Self Foundation
12 November 2016
DescriptionAfter working with The Love Your Natural Self Foundation and other organizations, I wanted to branch out and start my own non-profit. I was not sure about the cause at first, but I did know I wanted to create a clothing brand where a majority of the profits would go toward my chosen cause.
There were various causes I wanted to help, most of them being overseas, in third-world countries. While volunteering at a food packing event for Haiti with the Living the Dream Foundation, the founder announced that 25% of the food we were packing would go to the homeless shelter in my town. She reminded us that although it was great to help communities around the world, we also needed to remember those in our own communities who are in need.
That is when I decided to create Native Nomads, a non-profit benefiting rehabilitation programs for the less fortunate in our own communities. I especially wanted to focus on programs that would help people get back on their feet.
The idea behind the brand is to stay very simple and relaxed. I also wanted the logo to act more like a template for other prints and have it adapt to any background I decided to use. I am currently working on other designs for Native Nomads, but the idea is on hold for now until I can find proper funding to get the movement started!
